Thank you for choosing to stay Goats & Oats at Garsdale. We look forward to welcoming you to our self-catering barn in the Yorkshire Dales.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before making your booking. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms.
If you have any questions or particular requirements, please contact us before booking. We will always do our best to help.
1. Booking
1.1 Goats & Oats at Garsdale is a self-catering three-bedroom converted barn. The accommodation is let as a whole property rather than as individual rooms.
1.2 The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and accepts these Terms & Conditions on behalf of everyone staying at the property.
1.3 A booking becomes a confirmed booking once the required payment has been received and confirmation has been issued.
1.4 The number of guests staying at the property must not exceed the maximum occupancy stated at the time of booking. Only the people named on the booking may stay overnight unless prior agreement has been given by the owners.
1.5 The property must be used for holiday and leisure purposes unless otherwise agreed in advance. Commercial activities, events, parties, celebrations or gatherings involving additional guests are not permitted without prior written agreement.
2. Payment
2.1 The total price of the stay will be confirmed at the time of booking.
2.2 A deposit may be required to secure the booking, with the remaining balance payable upon checkout.
2.3 For bookings made through third-party booking platforms, the payment and cancellation terms shown on that platform will apply where they differ from these direct-booking terms.
2.4 We reserve the right to require a security deposit where applicable. Any security deposit will be returned following the stay, subject to deductions for damage, excessive cleaning or other costs arising from a breach of these terms.
3. Arrival and Departure
3.1 Check-in is from 4:00pm on the day of arrival.
3.2 Check-out is by 10:00am on the day of departure.
3.3 Earlier check-in or later check-out may sometimes be possible by prior arrangement. Please contact us before your stay if you would like to request this.
3.4 Guests are responsible for leaving the property by the agreed check-out time. Additional charges may apply if a late departure causes disruption to cleaning or preparation for the next guests.
3.5 Details of how to access the property will be provided before arrival.
4. Use of the Property
4.1 Guests are expected to treat the property, its contents and surrounding grounds with care and respect.
4.2 The property must not be used for parties, large gatherings, events or any activity that could cause unreasonable disturbance to neighbours or other residents.
4.3 Excessive noise, particularly late at night, is not permitted. Please keep noise to a minimum after 10:00pm.
4.4 Guests must not use the property for any illegal or unlawful purpose.
4.5 Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the property.
4.6 Candles, fireworks, sky lanterns and other naked flames are not permitted at the property.
4.7 Guests must not move furniture or other items between rooms or remove any property from the accommodation without prior permission.
5. Dogs and Pets
5.1 Dogs/pets are not permitted unless discussed prior to your stay.
5.2 Where dogs are permitted, a maximum of 2 well-behaved dogs may stay, subject to prior agreement.
5.3 Dogs must not be allowed on beds, sofas or other furniture unless specifically agreed with the owners.
5.4 Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and ensuring that they do not cause a nuisance to neighbours or damage the property.
5.5 Guests will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any furniture, bedding, soft furnishings or other items damaged by their pet.
6. Children
6.1 Children are welcome at Goats & Oats at Garsdale.
6.2 The property is situated in a rural location and includes areas where there may be natural hazards. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children at all times.
6.3 Any requirements for cots, highchairs or other children's equipment should be discussed with us before booking.
7. Cleanliness and Damage
7.1 We ask guests to leave the property reasonably clean and tidy at the end of their stay.
7.2 Guests are not expected to carry out a full clean, but excessive cleaning resulting from misuse of the property may incur an additional charge.
7.3 Guests must notify us as soon as reasonably possible if anything is damaged, broken or not working during their stay. Early notification gives us the best opportunity to resolve the issue.
7.4 Guests may be charged for damage, breakages, loss or excessive cleaning resulting from their actions or the actions of members of their party.
7.5 We reserve the right to charge the reasonable replacement or cleaning cost where towels, bedding or other furnishings are permanently stained or damaged by substances such as make-up, fake tan, hair dye, food, drink or other products.
7.6 Guests must not attempt to repair damaged items themselves without first contacting us.
8. Personal Belongings and Vehicles
8.1 Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings and valuables throughout their stay.
8.2 To the extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to guests' personal belongings, vehicles, bicycles or other property left at the accommodation.
8.3 Guests should ensure that vehicles are locked and valuables are not left on display.
9. Faults and Complaints
9.1 Please contact us as soon as possible if you experience a problem with the accommodation or discover that something is faulty.
9.2 We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any problems as quickly as possible, although this may not always be possible during a short stay.
9.3 If you have a complaint, please give us the opportunity to address it during your stay. Complaints made only after departure may limit our ability to investigate or resolve the issue.
10. Electricity, Heating and Fire Safety
10.1 Guests must use electrical appliances responsibly and in accordance with any instructions provided.
10.2 Electrical appliances belonging to guests must not be left switched on or charging unattended where doing so could present a fire risk.
10.3 Guests must not use candles, naked flames, fireworks, sky lanterns, portable heaters or other potentially hazardous equipment without prior permission.
10.4 Guests must familiarise themselves with the property's fire safety information and emergency procedures on arrival.
11. Wi-Fi
11.1 Wi-Fi is provided free of charge for reasonable personal use.
11.2 We cannot guarantee that the Wi-Fi service will always be available, uninterrupted or operate at a particular speed.
11.3 Guests use the internet connection at their own risk and are responsible for ensuring that their use of the service is lawful.
11.4 The Wi-Fi must not be used for illegal activity, copyright infringement, harassment, accessing unlawful material or any activity that could adversely affect the service or the owners.
11.5 We reserve the right to restrict or withdraw Wi-Fi access where necessary.
12. Cancellations by Guests
12.1 Cancellation terms for direct bookings are as follows:
- If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival, we may be able to refund your stay.
- If you cancel within 30 days of arrival, we may not be able to refund your stay.
- If you fail to arrive for your booking without cancelling, the booking will be treated as a no-show and will not be refunded.
12.2 Cancellations must be made in writing by email to stayatgarsdalehouse@outlook.com.
12.3 Your cancellation is not considered confirmed until we acknowledge receipt of your cancellation in writing.
12.4 We strongly recommend that guests take out suitable travel insurance, including cancellation cover.
12.5 Where a booking has been made through Booking.com or another third-party booking platform, the cancellation policy displayed at the time of booking will apply.
13. Changes or Cancellation by Us
13.1 In exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary for us to cancel a booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
13.2 If we have to cancel your booking, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and refund any payments made to us for the affected booking.
13.3 Our liability in these circumstances will be limited to the amount paid to us for the booking, except where otherwise required by law.
14. Early Departure
14.1 If you choose to leave the property before the end of your booked stay, no refund will normally be provided unless otherwise agreed.
14.2 Where you leave early because of a problem with the accommodation, please contact us immediately so that we have an opportunity to investigate and, where possible, resolve the issue.
15. Lost Property
15.1 If you leave an item at the property, please contact us as soon as possible.
15.2 We will make reasonable efforts to return lost property where possible.
15.3 Guests may be asked to provide a prepaid postage label or cover the reasonable cost of postage and packaging.
15.4 Unclaimed items may be disposed of after a reasonable period.
16. Accessibility and Special Requirements
16.1 Please contact us before booking if you have any accessibility requirements, allergies, medical requirements or other needs that may affect your stay.
16.2 We will always do our best to provide accurate information and reasonable assistance, but guests are responsible for deciding whether the accommodation is suitable for their individual needs.
17. Privacy
17.1 We will collect and use guests' personal information only as reasonably necessary to process and manage their booking, communicate with them and provide the accommodation.
17.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our privacy policy.
17.3 We will not use guests' personal information for marketing purposes unless they have given the appropriate consent.
18. Governing Law
18.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
18.2 Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any statutory rights available to consumers.
19. Acceptance
By making a booking at Goats & Oats at Garsdale, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
