Is parking available?
Yes. We have a generous private car park with plenty of space for guests.
Can I arrive by public transport?
Yes. The Settle–Carlisle Railway is just 1 mile away, with regular services to Skipton, Leeds and Carlisle. Between April and October you can also enjoy heritage steam train services. The spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct is a highlight of the route and well worth visiting. The Little White Bus stops outside the property and provides connections to Hawes, Leyburn, Northallerton, Richmond and Keld.
Is there outdoor space?
Yes. Guests can relax in the outdoor seating area, complete with a chiminea, making it a lovely place to unwind after a day exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
Where is the barn located?
Our self-catering barn is ideally located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, close to Hawes and the beautiful River Ure. From the doorstep, you can enjoy a scenic riverside walk into Hawes, making it the perfect base for exploring the Dales.
Are there attractions nearby?
Yes! Popular attractions include Hardraw Force (England's highest single-drop waterfall) and the historic Green Dragon Inn, Aysgarth Falls, Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, White Scar Cave, The Forbidden Corner and the iconic Tan Hill Inn – Britain's highest pub.
Which towns and villages are close by?
Hawes is just 5 miles away and offers independent shops, cafés, restaurants, the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum. Kirkby Stephen is around 9 miles away, while Sedbergh, England's famous Book Town, is also approximately 9 miles away. The historic village of Dent is only 5 miles from the barn.
What walking routes are nearby?
We're surrounded by some of the Yorkshire Dales' best walking routes. The Pennine Bridleway, Lady Anne's Way and the Dales Way all pass nearby, while the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is within easy reach. The Snaizeholme Red Squirrel Trail, around 5 miles away, offers a peaceful woodland walk with the chance to spot England's native red squirrels.
Is the barn suitable for cycling holidays?
Absolutely. We're ideally placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales by bike, with the famous Buttertubs Pass nearby – one of the region's favourite cycling climbs. Guests can securely store bicycles in our locked garage after a day's ride.
Can I enjoy stargazing?
Yes. Our location is in a designated Dark Sky area, where clear nights offer fantastic opportunities for stargazing and enjoying the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales after dark.
